On Books

Personal reviews of books I have read.  Should you not waste your time reading? Or should you look more from a particular author?

  1. Although Claire Messud’s novel The Emperor’s Children is an exhausting read due to her extensive narrative, I recommend the book to everyone who has knowledge about the classics. You must know about Emerson and and War and Peace for example.

  2. Erik Larson’s The Devil in the White City, is a meticulously written book about the historical events that took place during the World’s Exposition in 1893 Chicago. Each chapter is juxtaposed to explore the preparations of the World’s Exposition in the Windy City as we are also introduced to the evil doings of a man named H.H. Holmes. Larson’s excellent style and precise research on the subject surely deserves the filming of the upcoming motion picture starring Leonardo Dicaprio.

    A MUST READ
